You’ve got to see the gorgeous yarn I received in my KnitCrate Subscription for March 2019! Plus, don’t miss this limited-time BOGO Deal!
KnitCrate is a monthly yarn subscription service, delivering high-quality, hand-dyed yarn to your doorstep. They offer several different crates, with different types of yarn and projects. The crate shown in the video above is the KnitCrate Membership, which (usually) includes 2 skeins of premium yarn in the featured colorway, and 2 exclusive patterns (1 knitting pattern, 1 crochet pattern). All KnitCrates ship worldwide with free shipping and handling. Members also receive reward points and discounts towards future purchases.
Use Coupon Code “YAYFORYARN20” for 20% off your first KnitCrate.
This coupon code does not expire, but during the month of March, new subscribers can get an even more amazing deal on the KnitCrate subscription! Sign up for a KnitCrate membership, and get a FREE Mystery KnitCrate:
Each month’s crate has a theme, and this month’s theme is “Whisper”. All yarns for this month feature colors inspired by spring. In the KnitCrate Membership for March, the contents of the crate are a little different than usual. You see, the yarn for this month is so luxurious, that it costs more than a standard skein. So instead of 2 skeins, we get 1 skein of this super-fancy yarn, plus a canvas project bag. The colorway for this month is called “Titmouse” (after a species of small bird).
The yarn is Knitologie Sheen, an ultra luxurious blend of Merino Wool, Silk, and Cashmere. This fingering-weight skein is hands-down, the softest, squishiest yarn I have ever touched! That hint of silk adds just the right amount of sheen to each smooth strand. Much of the skein is dyed in taupe and a pale, bluish grey, with a rich, denim blue and a pop of yellow.
The canvas project bag in this crate is so cute! It zips across the top, and says “make something today” in dark blue lettering. I love that it’s the perfect size for any small project. I’m definitely going to attach my pin from the December 2018 KnitCrate to this little bag!
This month, the pattern booklet includes the 3 patterns from the Membership crate and Sock Membership Crate, plus 7 bonus patterns! The Artisan crates have been done away with, so now the Artisan yarns are sold in the KnitCrate Pop-Up shop each month (limited quantities), and the Artisan patterns are included in the Membership and Sock Membership crates. The bonus patterns and the Artisan patterns are not in the written booklet, but are only available as PDF downloads. (Instructions for downloading PDF versions of the booklet and all of the individual patterns are included in the book.)
The crochet pattern for this month is the Solennelle Shawl by Kendall Timko, and we also get the Honeycomb Shawl by Bonnie Barker as a bonus crochet pattern. The featured knitting pattern is the Birdseed Hat by Hannah Theissen, and then there’s the Penelope Headband and Scarf by Lilia Vanini as a bonus. Treeometry by Tracy Seamster is the featured sock pattern. We also get 4 artisan patterns, which use yarns from the artisan pop-up shop: the Magamo Shawl by Irina Pi, the Hibari Handwarmers and Hibari Hat, also by Irina Pi, and the Leaf Dance Socks by Tisserin Coquet. That’s a ton of patterns!
I’ve loved every KnitCrate I’ve received, but this one is definitely one of my favorites. The project bag is so cute, all 10 patterns are gorgeous, and out of the hundreds of skeins I’ve used in my life, this yarn is one of the most incredible yarns I’ve ever had.
I can’t wait to make something from this beautiful yarn!
(UPDATE: I used this yarn to make the fingering weight version of my Easiest Knitted Hat Knitting Pattern. I love how this colorway knits up!)
Thanks so much to KnitCrate for sending me this crate to review!
