June 2020 KnitCrate Review – This silky chainette yarn is perfect for summer projects! Plus, don’t miss this exclusive coupon code, just for my readers.
My KnitCrate arrived a bit late this time, so I wasn’t able to unbox the June crate before the end of June. If you join the KnitCrate subscription during the month of July, you’ll get the July crate. However, some of the June yarns are still available to purchase by the skein in the KnitCrate shop, so I’m sharing my review anyway for anyone who might be interested in trying out the June KnitCrate yarns.
KnitCrate is a monthly yarn subscription service, delivering high-quality, hand-dyed yarn to your doorstep. They offer several different crates, with different types of yarn and projects. The crate shown in the video above is the KnitCrate Membership, which includes 2 skeins of premium yarn in the featured colorway, and at least 2 exclusive patterns (1 knitting pattern, 1 crochet pattern). All KnitCrates ship worldwide with free shipping and handling. Members also receive reward points and discounts towards future purchases.
Use Coupon Code “YAYFORYARN20” for 20% off your first KnitCrate.
Each month’s crate has a theme, and this month’s theme is “Getaway”. There are three different colorways available in the KnitCrate Membership for June: “Pigment”, “Haze”, or “Beaches”, which I received. It’s a neutral, hand-dyed tonal colorway, featuring varying shades of cream and beige.
The yarn is Audine Wools Interlock, a sport weight yarn I have never tried before. It’s a silky smooth chainette-style yarn, in a cotton / linen / lyocell / nylon blend. (Lyocell is a type of rayon.) I love the feel of this yarn, and I think it would be perfect for summer projects!
KnitCrate Extras
All KnitCrate subscriptions include an extra, bonus item, and this month, it’s a disc of sewing pins. These can come in handy for pinning projects together for seaming.
The crate normally includes a small pattern booklet, including the patterns from the Membership crate and Sock Membership Crate. This month, however, the patterns for the crate are available as a digital download. The June crate includes 1 crochet pattern (Getaway Shawl) and 1 knitting pattern (Adventure Is Out There Tote) for the Membership crate. For the Sock crate, there’s a sock knitting pattern (Thunder & Lightning Socks) and a crochet sock pattern (Ribbellini Socks).
I can’t wait to see how this yarn will look in a knitted or crocheted fabric. I think it will work great for a summer project!
Thanks so much to KnitCrate for sending me this crate to review!
