KnitCrate is a monthly yarn subscription service, delivering high-quality, hand-dyed yarn to your doorstep. They offer several different crates, with different types of yarn and projects. The crate shown in the video above is the KnitCrate Membership, which includes 2 skeins of premium yarn in the featured colorway, and 2 exclusive patterns (1 knitting pattern, 1 crochet pattern). All KnitCrates ship worldwide with free shipping and handling. Members also receive reward points and discounts towards future purchases.

Each month’s crate has a theme, and this month’s theme is “Circus Circus”. All yarns for this month feature circus-inspired colorways. In the KnitCrate Membership for July, the crate includes 2 skeins of one of three different colorways: “Light Up”, “Trapeze”, or “Pachyderm”, which I received.
The yarn is Knitologie Glowing Worsted, a soft, smooth, worsted-weight blend of Superwash Merino Wool, Silk, and Baby Alpaca. The silk adds a little bit of sheen to the yarn, which enhances stitch definition and makes the yarn look more luxurious. It feels very soft and squishy. Surprisingly, even though this is my 14th month of KnitCrate, this is only the 3rd pure solid-colored yarn I have received. All other yarns so far have been dyed with multi-colored, heathered, or tonal colorways. The “Pachyderm” colorway is a deep blue, almost navy, but a bit lighter.
Extras
All KnitCrate subscriptions now include an extra! This is new, since we used to only get an extra for special occasions (like in the December crate) or one-skein crates (like March or May). For July, I got an adorable elephant stitch marker. Since its attached to a lobster clasp, it can be used for both knitting and crochet.
The crate includes a small pattern booklet, including the patterns from the Membership crate and Sock Membership Crate. This booklet contains 1 crochet pattern (Risley Cowl by Katie Clary) and 1 knitting pattern (Ringleader Mitts by Hannah Theissen) for the Membership crate. For the Sock crate, a sock knitting pattern (Vargas Socks by Renate Kamm) is always included, but now, each sock crate also includes a crocheted sock or slipper pattern (After Show Slippers by Demetra Bogri).
I’m very happy with what I got in my crate this month! The yarn feels amazing, and the stitch marker is super cute and functional. I don’t know what I’ll make with this yarn yet, but I’m excited to use it in a project!
(UPDATE: I used this yarn in my Puff Stitch Hat Crochet Pattern.)
Thanks so much to KnitCrate for sending me this crate to review!
