Each month’s crate has a theme, and the theme for January is “Shadows”. There are three hazy colorways to choose from in the January crate: a soft, muted purple, a creamy off-white, and the lovely teal-ish blue shade that I received.
The yarn is Audine Wools Haze, a soft, fluffy, bulky-weight blend of superwash merino wool, kid mohair, and silk. It’s spun with a two-ply construction. The merino gives it structure, but the mohair adds just the right amount of fluff. That touch of silk adds a slight sheen, which really highlights the texture of the yarn. It feels so luxurious!
All KnitCrate subscriptions include a bonus item, and this month, it’s a set of gift labels. These soft woven labels can be sewn into knit and crochet projects that you give as gifts, letting the recipient know the item has been handmade with love.
The crate also includes a digital pattern booklet, including the patterns from the Membership crate and Sock Membership Crate. These patterns are designed to work perfectly with the yarns in the crate. The January booklet includes 1 crochet pattern (No-Count Cozy Cowl) and 1 knitting pattern (Cabled Hat) for the Membership yarns. For the Sock crate, there’s a sock knitting pattern (Flurry Feeling Socks) and a crochet sock pattern (Wright’s Shadow Socks).
Thanks so much to KnitCrate for sending me this crate to review! I’m excited to see how this yarn works up in a project. 🙂
