KnitCrate is a monthly yarn subscription service, delivering high-quality, hand-dyed yarn to your doorstep. They offer several different crates, with different types of yarn and projects. The crate shown in the video above is the KnitCrate Membership, which includes 2 skeins of premium yarn in the featured colorway, and 2 exclusive patterns (1 knitting pattern, 1 crochet pattern). All KnitCrates ship worldwide with free shipping and handling. Members also receive reward points and discounts towards future purchases.
Use Coupon Code “YAYFORYARN20” for 20% off your first KnitCrate.
Each month’s crate has a theme, and this month’s theme is “Citrine”. Instead of 2 skeins of the same colorway, this month, the KnitCrate Membership includes 2 skeins of coordinating colorways, one tonal semisolid and one variegated. There are three different colorway pairs: “Safari Sunset & Golden Lion”, “Royal Court & Empire”, or “Concrete Jungle & Bushwick”, which I received.
The yarn is Knitologie Merino Worsted, a super-squishy, worsted weight, Superwash Merino Wool. It has a lovely softness, but holds its shape well. The semisolid skein features several shades of cream and beige, while the variegated skein is dyed with cream, beige, brown, red-orange, and a bright yellow-green.
Extras
All KnitCrate subscriptions now include an extra! For January, I got a tiny knitted hat with a pom. So cute!
The crate includes a small pattern booklet, including the patterns from the Membership crate and Sock Membership Crate. This booklet contains 1 crochet pattern (Inbound Cowl) and 1 knitting pattern (Upside-Down Cowl) for the Membership crate. For the Sock crate, there’s a sock knitting pattern (Gemology Socks) and a crochet sock pattern (Blue Quartz Socks).
I’m not sure what I’ll make with these yarns yet, but I can’t wait to see how these colorways look together in a project!
Thanks so much to KnitCrate for sending me this crate to review!
