August 2020 KnitCrate Review – This merino wool, linen, and silk blend yarn has a lovely sheen! Plus, don’t miss this exclusive coupon code, just for my readers.
My KnitCrate arrived a bit late this time, and August is already almost over. If you join the KnitCrate subscription during the last few days of August, you’ll get the August crate. However, if any of the August yarns are left over after August ends, they may still be available to purchase by the skein in the KnitCrate shop.
KnitCrate is a monthly yarn subscription service, delivering high-quality, hand-dyed yarn to your doorstep. They offer several different crates, with different types of yarn and projects. The crate shown in the video above is the KnitCrate Membership, which includes 2 skeins of premium yarn in the featured colorway, and at least 2 exclusive patterns (1 knitting pattern, 1 crochet pattern). All KnitCrates ship worldwide with free shipping and handling. Members also receive reward points and discounts towards future purchases.
Use Coupon Code “YAYFORYARN20” for 20% off your first KnitCrate.
Each month’s crate has a theme, and this month’s theme is “Vividarium”. There are three different colorways available in the KnitCrate Membership for August: “Midsummer Rose”, “Sandstones”, or “Oasis”, which I received. It’s a soft, pale blue-green color.
The yarn is Vidalana Linen Jewel, a fingering weight blend of Superwash Merino Wool, Linen, and Silk. It has a soft sheen to it, with the crispness of linen and the softness of the superwash merino. I think this yarn will have great stitch definition!
All KnitCrate subscriptions include a bonus item, and this month, it’s a cork coaster on which you can set your tea or coffee as you knit. 🙂
The crate includes a small pattern booklet, including the patterns from the Membership crate and Sock Membership Crate. The August crate includes 1 crochet pattern (Pier Cardigan) and 1 knitting pattern (Simple Summer Shrug) for the Membership crate. For the Sock crate, there’s a sock knitting pattern (Cactus Flower Socks and a crochet sock pattern (Sun Surf Socks).
The yarn in this crate looks and feels so nice! I’ll be saving it until I find the perfect project for it, but I think it will make something beautiful!
Thanks so much to KnitCrate for sending me this crate to review!
